Accent Walls

One wall. Bold color. It changes how the whole room reads — and it usually takes me less than a day.

What an accent wall actually does

An accent wall is one wall in a room painted a contrasting color — usually deeper, bolder, or warmer than the other three. It gives the room a focal point. It anchors the furniture. It makes a space feel intentional instead of just painted.

Most people think they need to repaint the whole room to make a change. They don't. One wall is often the move — especially in a bedroom behind the headboard, or a living room behind the TV. The rest of the room stays the same and suddenly everything looks pulled together.

This is also the lowest-commitment way to try a bold color. If you've been eyeing a deep navy or a forest green and aren't sure, one wall is the right way to find out.

What's included

Color guidance

Not sure which wall or which color? I'll tell you what I'd do and why. You decide — no pressure either way.

Careful tape & prep

Trim, ceiling line, and adjacent walls get taped. The edges are what make this job look professional or not.

Two coats standard

One coat rarely covers fully on a color change. Two coats is the standard — even on a single accent wall.

Clean exit

Tape pulled before the paint dries fully for sharp lines. I clean up and move furniture back before I leave.

How it goes

1

Pick the wall & color

We agree on which wall and you confirm the color. I'll suggest sheens too — accent walls usually look best in eggshell or satin.

2

Tape & protect

Trim, ceiling, and adjacent walls get taped off. Floors get covered. Takes more time than most people expect — worth every minute.

3

Cut the edges

The perimeter gets cut in by brush first. This is where quality shows — a steady hand along the ceiling line and into the trim corners.

4

Roll & finish

Two coats with a quality roller. Tape pulled while the second coat is still slightly wet for the cleanest possible lines.
